Presenter Details & Bio:

Title: Silicones (Elastomer, D5, Particles) Replacement

Bio: Dr. Chao Zhu joined Momentive in 2017 and currently serves as the AMR Marketing Manager for the Beauty and Personal Care business. He brings more than a decade of experience from L’Oreal USA and ISP/Ashland, where he worked across R&D, formulation, and application teams to develop and scout products/technologies for hair care, skin care, sun care, and color cosmetics. With a strong foundation in polymer science, supported by his doctoral degree, he brings a blend of scientific depth and market insight to beauty and personal care market.

The OVSCC is excited to host our Student Night at Newport Aquarium with guest speaker Dr. Rolanda Wilkerson from Procter & Gamble. We welcome students from The University of Toledo and The University of Cincinnati to this fun event filled with cosmetic science education, networking, and fish!

OVSCC & LESCC Joint Meeting 2025 – Formulation Day

Join the Ohio Valley SCC and Lake Erie SCC chapters for a collaborative, hands-on Formulation Day on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Columbus, OH at the KDC/One Groveport location (4400 S Hamilton Rd, Groveport, OH 43125). This special event brings together professionals from across the personal care and cosmetic science community for an engaging afternoon of networking, learning, and formulation.

11:00am - Meet for Organized Lunch at La Matraca (5000 Gender Rd, Canal Winchester, OH 43110)

12:00pm - Check-In at KDC-One (Please review the security information before hand)

12:45pm - Formulation Demo Begins

OVSCC and LESCC Joint Meeting: Formulation Day Tickets, Tue, Jun 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM | Eventbrite

Event Highlights:

• Interactive Lab Demonstration: Attendees will create their own 50mL sample of a shampoo, guided by formulation expert Valentina Carr.
• Ingredient Spotlights: Participating suppliers will showcase their ingredients during the formulation process.
• Lab Safety Glasses Provided (attendees may also bring their own).
• Swag Bags: Attendees will receive curated samples and promotional items from sponsoring companies.
• Lunch: Hosted off-site at La Matraca location.

• All batching equipment and lab supplies provided by KDC.
• Event will run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, starting with lunch and networking, followed by the formulation session.

Attire: Lab-safe attire required. Closed-toe shoes, long pants, and safety glasses (provided if needed).
