From Farmers to Consumers: Producing Sustainable and Socially Responsible Sourced Ingredients

Beauty is a global interest that arose thousands of years ago and will continue to last a long time. However, our lifestyle has evolved, and we must not forget that our day-to-day choices could potentially impact the future of our planet. Taking up the trends of modern consumers demand, and their growing environmental consciousness, has prompted the cosmetic industry to develop more sustainable solutions while keeping the same high level of in vitro demonstrated biological efficacy and clinical performance. Capitalizing on our experience acquired with a previous Argan program, we identified a plant and built a new specific sustainable supply chain in cooperation with a long-standing local partner in Vietnam. The plant identified is Rambutan, also called Nephelium lappaceum, a well-known fruit tree in Asia. Consequently, we selected three extracts based on three different by-products of fruit production based on their high biological performance for both skin and scalp benefits.

Please join us for our next quarterly meeting in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. Enjoy a wonderful talk from Philip Ludwig from BASF.
