What made you pursue a career in the cosmetics/personal care industry?

I stumbled upon an internship at Estee Lauder when I was in Graduate School studying Biotechnology. That’s when I had my initial experience working in the cosmetic industry and fell in love with it. I like being able to improve people’s everyday lives with the work I do.

What advice would you give your younger self who is just starting out in the industry?
If I could give my younger self some advice, I would say to network every chance you get.

What is the favorite part of your job?

About 7 years ago, I decided to dedicate myself to the natural beauty space. Having been influenced by Ayurveda all my life, I have always believed in the power of herbs. I now love to create new concepts in the natural space and introduce people to the benefits of using clean, healthy skincare products.

What has been your most recent professional accomplishment?

I recently served as an Honorary Alumnus at Adelphi University for a new lecture series focusing on the intersection of science and business. It was a whole lot of fun interacting with graduate students considering careers in Beauty.

How has membership in the SCC been of value to you?

Being an SCC member from the beginning of my career has been a tremendous advantage. I have attended several education courses and met a lot of wonderful industry veterans who have all propelled me forward in my career. The SCC has been instrumental in keeping me up to date on both regulatory and new technology fronts.

What is a fun fact about yourself, outside of the SCC and your professional life?

I have a 2 yr old who refuses to believe in gravity.
