What advice would you give your younger self who is just starting out in the industry? 
My advise to the next generation of Cosmetic Chemists is to be patient and a good listener because learning is golden. Always be helpful and respectful.

What is the favorite part of your job?

The favorite part of my job is meeting people. I call them colleagues whether they are my fellow workers or customers. I get enjoyment out of finding a common ground to help in innovation and projects and empowering people. Also volunteering to help in various areas at our SCC Midwest chapter functions – short of elected office (the reason I traveled a lot).

What has been your most recent professional accomplishment?

Spending a large part of my career in specialty tech. chemical sales, I find pride in learning, establishing & growing successful territories with companies I was associated with (Henkel/A&W) and presently mfg. rep. You reach my age, one goes through a lot and sees a lot.

How has membership in the SCC been of value to you?

Membership in our society is important because of the caliber and professionalism of its members. Specifically, the society is dedicated to the technical advancement of the industry and educational presentations are continuously offered to keep its members current with the technology. It is also important to point out the relationships that you gain from these meetings.

What is a fun fact about yourself, outside of the SCC and your professional life?

Taking it easy, making fun of oneself, being jovial is the best medicine and, of course, having fun at an expensive hobby called Golf.
