About the Instructors

Paul Marotta

FP Labs

With over 25 years of experience in the cosmetics and personal care industry, Paul Marotta is the Senior Director of Research and Development and Process Engineering at FP Labs in Chanhassen, Minnesota. He leads innovative research strategies and process engineering initiatives, mentoring his R&D team to develop cutting-edge formulations that meet evolving market trends and customer demands. Before joining FP Labs, Paul was the Director of Corporate Mascara/Brow Development at The Estée Lauder Companies, where he contributed to product development for brands such as Estée Lauder, MAC, and Clinique, emphasizing innovation and quality.

Paul is an inventor with over 10 patents to his name and actively contributes to the industry by serving on the Committee on Scientific Affairs for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, where he is Chair-Elect of the Twin Cities Chapter. His skill set encompasses project management, product lifecycle oversight, and providing strategic insights to executive leadership, focusing on improving speed to market while ensuring safety and quality compliance. Paul holds an M.B.A. and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics from the State University of New York and resides in Maple Grove, Minnesota, with his wife Brandie Marotta and four children.

Brandon Nazario

RNB Formulation Consultants LLC

Brandon Nazario has over twenty-five years’ experience in the cosmetics and personal care industry.  As a goal-orientated scientist and business leader, he has extensive experience in the formulation and commercialization (compounding scale-up, filling, production, warehouse, facilities, etc.) of various cosmetic product forms in color cosmetics, OTC, skin care, hair care, and bath & body across multi-billion dollar and contract manufacturing platforms.  He was also a Technical Sales Manager with over six years’ experience in the cosmetics, personal care, and industrial industries, both domestically and globally.

Brandon currently serves as co-founder for RNB Formulation Consultants LLC.  Prior to this current role, he has served as Director of Operations for Best Formulations Personal Care in Huntington Beach, CA, Director of R&D Personal Care – color at Bayport Laboratories in Houston, TX, and Associate Director of R&D for the Estee Lauder Anhydrous Color and La Mer Color Makeup Labs.  In each position, he has used his outstanding knowledge in the fields of color cosmetics, skin care, and operations to be proactive in leading the creation of consumer-focused cosmetics products with quality and “speed to market”.  His other areas of expertise include project management, consumer understanding, and category/personnel leadership and development.

Brandon has an M.B.A. and an undergraduate degree in Biology from the State University of New York.  He has also served as Secretary, Chair-Elect, and Chair for the Long Island Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.  He currently resides in Irvine, California with his wife, Ruby Nazario, and their two sons.  However, he will be moving back to the East Coast at the end of June 2025 with the hopes of continuing his passion for creation, innovation, and education of cosmetic concepts and products within the industry.
