Patents: A Practical Introduction

Course Overview

Regardless of the position you have within the personal care industry, patents will impact your activities. Very often, a project will start with a patent search and end with a freedom to operate statement.  The goal of this course is to help the attendee to understand patents, how they work and the language of patent practitioners. By providing a practical, functional understanding of patents, their content, and use, inventors will be better able to communicate and work with attorneys to protect their ideas and discoveries while making certain not to infringe the patent rights of others.  This course is not intended to provide specific legal advice or recommendations, but to offer a framework to allow for more productive interaction between attorney and chemist.
