PHYLLIS J. CARTER
Phyllis J. Carter, 99, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at home. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Albright College in 1946. Before retiring in 1981, she was employed by the former Atlas Powder Company, later ICI Americas, as an analytical chemist and manager of product development and advertising. A member of the Society for more than 72 years, Phyllis served as the 33rd president of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in 1978 and was a recipient of the Society’s highest honor, the Maison G. deNavarre Medal Award, in 1981.
