Shaw Mudge Award
The Shaw Mudge Award is presented to the author(s) of the Best Paper presented at the preceding Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
The Committee can recommend that no award be given in any year. This shall in no way affect future selections or the amount of the award in future years.
A framed certificate is presented to the awardee.
About Shaw Mudge
Shaw Mudge was the Co-Founder and Chairman of Shaw Mudge & Company in Shelton, CT. Mr. Mudge graduated from The Choate Rosemary School in 1941 and served in World War II, as a Lieutenant (junior grade). In 1947 Shaw Mudge co-founded P. Robertet Inc., manufacturers of aromatic compounds and in 1969 he co-founded the Shaw Mudge & Company.
Mr. Mudge held numerous leadership positions during his career as a small business owner, including but not limited to; the National Advisory Council to the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business, The Fragrance Materials Association and the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in which he was recognized with The Merit Award in 1971.
