Maison G. deNavarre Medal Award

The Maison G. DeNavarre Medal Award is the Society’s highest honor. It is named after Society of Cosmetic Chemists founder Maison G. DeNavarre and is designed to recognize an individual for accomplishments in activity supporting the best interests of the cosmetic industry through technical contributions.


All completed nomination forms MUST be returned by July 15, 2024.
Nominations are reviewed and finalized by the National Achievement Awards Committee.

Eligibility & Judging Criteria

The following criteria shall be considered in the selection and evaluation of nominees:

  • SCC Membership in good standing is considered, but not required.
  • Activities within the Society may be considered.
  • Nominations should specifically address what the individual has done for the cosmetic scientist and for the cosmetic industry
  • Evaluation criteria is based on:
    • teaching, technical presentations, and mentorship activities of the individual.
    • number of years of service the individual has provided to the cosmetics and personal care industry.  
    • publications authored by the individual and their impact to the industry. 
    • number of patents and their relevance to the industry. 
  • Presented at the Annual Scientific Meeting, provided a deserved recipient is identified.
  • Past winners of other SCC Achievement Awards are eligible.
  • Intended to be awarded to an individual only once.
