Eduardo Ruvolo

Eduardo Ruvolo, PhD is Head of Clinical and Scientific Affairs at Beiersdorf Inc. (US), where he leads clinical innovation and scientific substantiation for OTC and cosmetic products. With a BSc and MSc in Theoretical and Applied Physics from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and a PhD by Publication from Kingston University London, Eduardo brings a biophysics-driven approach to developing novel clinical study designs and mechanistic insights into skin biology. His expertise spans skin structure, function, appearance, and sun protection science. He plays a leading role in international regulatory standards as a member of the US Sunscreen Task Force and ISO/TC 217/WG 7, and currently leads the development of ISO 23698, advancing the Hybrid Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (HDRS) method for SPF evaluation. Eduardo also serves as Chair of the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) Sunscreen Committee. Outside of work, Eduardo is a dedicated family man with one son, enjoys basketball, and finds balance through music as an avid cello player.
