The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) is a nonprofit membership organization covering the full spectrum of cosmetic science. Our 5,300+ global membership is comprised of industry professionals and academics working in all fields of cosmetic science. By joining the Society, members broaden their knowledge and take advantage of myriad opportunities, both on the national level and at Chapter meetings and events, to network and exchange ideas.
Membership with the SCC is for one calendar year
(beginning January 1 – December 31).

Current SCC Members can easily renew online. Please take the time to renew your membership today to avoid reinstatement fees and any interruption in benefits. If you have difficulty renewing, please contact Colleen Daddino.
To renew, the following dues are required by December 31st: General Members & National Affiliates ($150 USD), Student Members ($37.50 USD), Junior Members ($75 USD), Retired Members ($75 USD).

General Membership is available to persons engaged in scientific or technical work in the cosmetics and toiletries industry or in related governmental or academic areas, who have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in the chemical, physical, medical, pharmaceutical, biological or related sciences and technology.

Available to persons interested in the objectives of the Society, but not qualified for General Membership. National Affiliates are entitled to all membership privileges, except that they may not vote or hold elected office within the Society or its Chapters. (Please note: after seven consecutive years in good standing, all National Affiliates are automatically upgraded to General Members.)

Available to persons who hold an appropriate undergraduate degree in science and who are pursuing a post-graduate degree. Junior Members are entitled to all membership privileges, except that they may not vote or hold elected office within the Society or its Chapters.
Available to fully matriculated undergraduate students in a scientific program at recognized colleges and universities. Student members are entitled to all membership privileges, except that they may not vote or hold elected office within the Society or its Chapters. MEMBERSHIP CHANGES – UPON APPROVAL
Any member who has reached the age of 65 years and who has been a dues-paying member in good standing for 25 consecutive years may request to be nominated for transfer to Emeritus Membership status. Upon approval by the Board of Directors, such members shall be entitled to all privileges of a General Member for life, with exemption from payment of dues, except that they are not eligible for election as an Officer or Director within the Society.
Any member who has retired from the cosmetic industry and is over 55 years of age, and has been a dues-paying member in good standing for 15 years, may apply for Retired Membership status. Upon acceptance, Retired members are entitled to all privileges of a General Member, except that they may not hold elected office within the Society or its Chapters.
General members who have achieved full maturity in the profession, as evidenced by a record of outstanding achievement and leadership may be elected a Fellow of the Society by the Board of Directors upon recommendation by the Fellow Certification Committee.
Granted by the Board of Directors to individuals for distinguished service to the Industry.
Please note: Membership dues must be renewed yearly and all sales are final (dues renewals are non-refundable!)
Annual membership dues are payable to the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Headquarters in US Dollars only. Upon approval of your application, you will be assigned a “home” chapter based on your geographic location. Your SCC membership gives you member discount access to events and classes at all 19 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. There is not an option to join a local chapter only, as your membership is with the SCC association as a whole.
