She earned a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences majoring in Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design at the University of Toledo in 2021 and is currently a MS candidate for Cosmetic Science at the University of Cincinnati. “ Bret Schweid is currently the Vice President of Technical Development at Azelis CARE Americas. He is a 30-year Personal Care industry veteran having also worked for Colgate-Palmolive and National Starch & Chemical / Akzo Nobel in various technical roles. He has a BA in Biology from the University of Chicago and an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University. Cristiane Pacheco is New Business Vice President of Chemyunion, Inc US. Pacheco joined Chemyunion in 1998 and has 25 years of professional global personal care experience. She has led Research and Development and currently leads the US sales and operations team. Cristiane is a Pharmacist and holds her MBA, with a postgraduate degree in Cosmetology. Kim Norman is a US board-certified toxicologist, European Registered Toxicologist and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Toxicology. Kim is currently the Senior Director, Safety and Regulatory Toxicology, at the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC). In this role, she supports safety related issues for cosmetic ingredients and products, leading technical committees and engaging with domestic and international science and regulatory organizations. Kim previously served as an Associate Research Fellow in Global Stewardship at the Clorox Company, supporting regulatory and safety compliance for Burt’s Bees ingredients and products. She previously worked at the Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS) as a Senior Toxicologist and Study Director leading studies assessing eye and skin safety profiles of ingredients and formulations using non-animal methods. During this time, she worked collaboratively on the development and regulatory acceptance of numerous assays replacing animal use in the personal care industry. Kim obtained her Ph.D from Vanderbilt University in Cell and Developmental Biology studying the increased incidence of non-melanoma skin cancer in organ transplant recipients and DNA biomarkers in aging skin. Shabeer Wali, a distinguished professional in the field of regulatory affairs, has established himself as a recognized leader with a proven track record of success. With an unwavering commitment to product safety and compliance, he brings a keen eye for detail and extensive experience in the Fragrance, Personal Care, and Color Cosmetics industries. Shabeer holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Rutgers University, providing him with a solid foundation in scientific principles. Additionally, he has further enhanced his knowledge and expertise by obtaining a master’s degree (M.S.) in Cosmetic Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. This academic background equips him with a deep understanding of the science behind cosmetic products. Dr Gurusamy Manivannan is the Director of R&D, personal care in Ele corporation. His academic training includes PhD in Polymer chemistry, and MBA. He has more than twenty years of diversified leadership in personal care, medical device, consumer packaged goods, specialized technology, and product development companies. He developed innovative technologies and FDA/EPA regulated products: personal care products, personal and area repellents, insecticides, detergents and disinfectants, sustained antimicrobial products, and colorimetric chemical sensors. His comprehensive strategic product development experience includes identification of user needs, fuzzy front end to conceptualization, proof-of-concept, and commercialization, technology acquisition /transfer, external collaborations, and strategic partnership. Mike Davies has been in the personal care industry for over twenty years, working previously at Chattem, Inc. and Amway, Inc. Mike joined Essential Ingredients in 2003. He has a B.A. in Chemistry from Kenyon College, M.B.A. from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and an M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Cincinnati.
