MEET OUR SPEAKER:

Kelly Offerman is a seasoned professional in the Health & Beauty Care industry. Since October of 2023, she serves as a Senior Product Development Chemist at Greenology Products, LLC. Prior to this role, Kelly spent 15 years at Burt’s Bees, where she advanced from Scientist I to Principal Scientist, focusing extensively on skincare formulation. Her expertise in developing natural and organic products has been shaped by years of hands-on experience navigating the complexities of “clean beauty”. Kelly began her career at Avon Products in New York after earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from SUNY College at Oneonta in 2002. With a deep passion for sustainable formulation and product innovation, she continues to drive forward-thinking solutions in the personal care industry.

As consumers become more informed about their personal care choices, the demand for organic and sustainable products continues to grow. However, developing truly organic skincare that meets both regulatory standards and consumer expectations is no easy task.

While many organic products on the market carry “made with organic” claims, achieving full compliance presents unique formulation challenges. As part of her role at Greenology Products, Kelly has successfully formulated a range of USDA NOP-compliant skincare products. In this presentation, Kelly will share her experience in overcoming these difficulties while ensuring products remain both effective and aesthetically pleasing. She will also discuss the USDA Biopreferred program, which has gained popularity in the Household and Industrial Cleaners industry and is now expanding into cosmetics as interest in natural and eco-friendly beauty products rises.

Join us for an insightful discussion on the complexities of organic formulation and the evolving landscape of sustainable personal care.
