March Technical Meeting and Student Outreach Event 2026

First SCCMI Meeting of 2026

Join us for the first technical meeting of the Michigan Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in 2026. The event will take place on the campus of Central Michigan University and is co-hosted by CMU's Chapter of the American Chemical Society on Tuesday March 31st.  

This event will include a special "speed networking" event where students can connect with our member attendees directly. The speed networking event will seat students and cosmetic industry professionals together in a rotating structure to foster students’ better understanding of our work and hopefully pursue a career in cosmetics. We hope to have as many members participate in this even as possible in order to foster the SCC's ongoing outreach mission.

This will be followed by dinner and a technical presentation provided by Heather Dusek from Advancion. Her presentation will review the impact of amine neutralizer choice on formulation performance and structure.

Payment will be handled by CMU's ACS chapter, who have provided a generous discount to SCCMI by agreeing to host us at the Biosciences Building on the CMU campus.

    4-6 pm --- Networking Social Happy Hour

    5-6 pm --- Undergraduate and Graduate student Speed Networking

    6-7:30 pm --- Little Italy Dinner buffet and Seminar
