The Society thinks it’s time to acknowledge more members more often, so we’ve decided to place a spotlight on members whose dedication to the SCC has not gone unnoticed.

What made you pursue a career in the cosmetics/personal care industry?
It was such good luck for me. I am a chemical engineer, but my major was a metallurgy. A cosmetic company in the city I used to leave in was looking for a cosmetic chemist and I was accepted. After that I took a cosmetology degree in my University. It was love at the first sight. My first experience was with toothpastes and it was quite a challenging one due to the equipment and manufacturing process.
What is the favorite part of your job?
The development and the scale up process, as well to see your products at the stores. It is such an achievement to get something from 200 ml beaker to 3000 G batch and then to find out that your product is sold Worldwide.
What has been your most recent professional accomplishment?
A 100% natural hair conditioner
How has membership in the SCC been of value to you?
Extremely valuable. I’ve learned and am learning something new about our cosmetic field every time we have a meeting. I‘ve met new people -colleagues and experts and I’ve learned from them extremely important and beneficial information for my job. Thank you very much for the time all of you donate to the FLSCC Chapter.
What is a fun fact about yourself, outside of the SCC and your professional life?
I don’t think it is a fun fact, but I love to travel (unfortunately I don’t know how we will continue doing it) and I love chocolate. That is why I picked this picture from a chocolate farm in Costa Rica we visited last December.
