Additional presentations
are to be finanlized. Sessions E and F on Friday will be
very special as both sessions will be a Memorial Symposium
to the late Des Goddard. Presentations will include special
tributes to Des from individuals who worked with him throughout
his career. More information on these special sessions
will be available when the Registration material is sent.
In addition to the above program, the Society will also
offer two Continuing Education Courses on Wednesday. At
this time, they are tentatively “Scale Up and Processing” instructed
by David Yacko and “Cosmetic Rheology” instructed
by Dennis Laba. More detailed information including the
Course Outline, will be available with the Registration
Packet.
As stated above, the registration packets will
be mailed in late September. Hotel reservations for the
New York Hilton must be made through the SCC to receive
the special group rate. No reservations will be accepted
unless accompanied by a registration form for the meeting.
Due to the high demand for hotel reservations over the
weekend following the conference (Friday and Saturday)
and limited number of rooms available on these nights,
we recommend that you make "Back-up" arrangements
in case the SCC Block becomes sold out.
We look forward
to seeing you at this Annual event!!
DR. KEVIN
COOPER TO RECEIVE MEDAL AWARD
The Board of Directors
is pleased to announce that the 2008 Maison deNavarre Medal
Award, the Society’s highest honor, will be presented
to Dr. Kevin Cooper of the Department of Dermatology at
University Hospital of Case Western Reserve University.
The award presentation will be made at the Awards Luncheon
held in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting.
Dr. Cooper is being recognized for his significant contribution
to the Cosmetic Industry through his pivotal work in the
biology of ultraviolet-induced immune suppression which
has been critical in the design of sunscreens with photoprotection
beyond sunburn protection.

The
Suppliers Cocktail Reception will take place in the Grand

or Ben Blinder (ben.blinder@kemira.com) for more information.
