Colorants Used in the Cosmetic Industry
The purpose of this work is to give the reader a general idea
and overview of the basic concepts and principles of color usage
in the cosmetics industry. Basic knowledge along with hands-on
experience will show how color can be understood and used successfully
in cosmetic products to develop shades as well as adjust and
modify shades using cosmetically acceptable colorants. It will
include all of the acceptable color additives that are currently
being used in the decorative and color cosmetics industry.Unlike
most texts on this subject which contain a very large amount
of tables, graphs and charts, the authors put this work together
with the practical use of color in mind; more of a “how
to” source of information. It is hoped that this will
be a guide for the shade matcher, whether it is a new person
coming into the industry or a well seasoned color matcher, or
even formulators who need an easy reference to brush up on their
color skills. |
