An honorarium given to a speaker, who has achieved exceptional
national or international stature in the scientific community,
for delivering a lecture at the Annual Scientific Meeting.

An honorarium given to a speaker, who has achieved exceptional
national or international stature in the scientific community,
for delivering a lecture at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
Society of Cosmetic Chemists
Student Poster Award Sponsored by DD-Chemco, Inc.
Awarded annually in conjunction with the Annual Scientific
Seminar, honorariums are given for first, second, third and
fourth place Best Student Poster.
Young Scientist Award
Presented each year to recognize the outstanding
achievements of new cosmetic scientists throughout the industry.
Each year every manufacturer, supplier or other organization
in the personal care industry may select an individual in
their employ as a recipient of this award. The criteria for
selection is made by the individual company, however, the
SCC requires the recipient be an active member of the Society
for at least one year and working in the industry less than
10 years.
Information is sent in March of each year and
is posted on the SCC Website. To request an application, contact
Bill Cowen at the National Office. The submission deadline
is July 1st each year. The awards may be presented at an SCC
Chapter Meeting or through an internal corporate presentation.
Recipient names are listed in the SCC Winter Newsletter.
Chapter Awards
There are two chapter awards that are considered National
Awards. They are the Chapter Merit Award and the Chapter Best
Speaker Award.
Chapter Merit Award
The Chapter Merit Award is awarded to a Chapter Member for
outstanding service, dedication and voluntary services over
a period of time. A scroll is provided by National for presentation
by the Chapter. Recommendations for this award originates
with each Chapter and are submitted to the National Office.
Chapter Best Speaker Award
The Chapter Best Speaker Award is given for the best scientific
paper presented before each Chapter during a given calendar
year. Recommendations for this award originates with the
Chapters and are submitted to the National Office. A scroll
and Honorarium ($250 for a manuscript submission and $150
for an abstract submission) is provided by National for
presentation by the Chapter.
