1st Intercontinental Personal Care Excellence Conference (IPCE)

The SCC and the Italian Society of Chemistry and Cosmetic Sciences (SICC), with the endorsement of the Japanese Society, will come together on Lake Maggiore (Italy) at the Stresa Convention Center to open a wide window on the Cosmetic Science & Technology World for the first ever Intercontinental Personal Care Excellence Conference (IPCE)! Register today at the Early Bird Rate, ending May 2, to secure your seat at one of the first ever Society collaborative events.

Scheduled for June 18-20, 2017, the 1st IPCE Conference has invited scientists who will showcase their cutting-edge research on three main personal care disciplines: Makeup, Skin Care and Sun Care.

Two main courses will be at the center of this event, with the aim of training attendees on emerging scientific disciplines of interest to Cosmetologists.

  1. Molecular Biology and Gene Expression for the Cosmetic Chemists
    Instructed by Howard. Epstein Ph.D.
This course is designed for the cosmetic chemist to help them understand the very basic principles  behind molecular biology, specifically selected biological markers, gene expression and relevance to cosmetic science.
  2. Skin Lipids: Essential Role of Lipids on Skin Health
Instructed by previous Henry Maso Keynote Award Lecturer for the 2015 Annual Meeting, Apostolos Pappas, Ph.D.
The workshop will summarize and review the studies, ideas, and research that link lipid metabolism to the largest organ of our body, the skin.  From the fundamental biology of the skin to the major involvement of lipid synthesis and the bioactive lipids in this intriguing organ. All layers of skin will be discussed as well as their relevant lipids from the epidermis to dermis and even to the hypodermis. The use of lipids in the cosmetic industry will be emphasized, and last but not least the involvement of lipids in the clinical setting will also be discussed.
