The Journal of Cosmetic Science, The Official Journal of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, publishes papers concerned with cosmetics, cosmetic products, fragrances, their formulation and their effects in skin care or in overall consumer well-being, as well as papers relating to the sciences underlying cosmetics, such as human skin physiology, color physics, physical chemistry of colloids and emulsions, or psychological effects of olfaction in humans. Papers of interest to the cosmetic industry and to the understanding of the cosmetic markets are also welcome for publication. Issues are published online only bi-monthly, for a total of 6 issues a year.
JCS recent issues include issues from the current year + last 2 years. The online Journal archives, all issues dating back to 1947 excluding the recent issues as previously described, is available for free.
JCS is currently indexed in the following citation databases: PubMed, EBSCO, Scopus and Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science).
